Smoked Party Mix with Garlic and Mustard

This recipe is adaptable—the key is to keep the total amount of add-ins at four cups. This recipe is the homemade vegan version of Chex Mix, with more complexity and a slight smokey flavor.

Preparation

Heat oven to 250F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. In a large bowl mix chex cereal, peanuts, pretzels and pita chips.

In a small pot melt the vegan butter. Remove from heat and whisk in worcestershire, sugar, all the spices and salt. Pour the vegan butter mixture over the bowl of chex cereal mix and toss with a rubber spatula until all ingredients are evenly coated.

Pour the chex cereal mixture onto prepared pans and spread out evenly. Bake for 45 minutes, tossing mixture every 15 minutes or so, to ensure that the mix cooks evenly. Let mixture cool then store in an airtight container for at least a week.
